I think that in today's games, war games specifically; that they differentiate by who made it. Call of Duty was made by Activision, While BattleField was made by DICE. In Call of Duty, your basic objective is to just shoot and kill everyone you see that is on the enemy team. Battlefield is also like that, but Battlefield also has an objective. Battlefield has better graphics, and is more of a realistic game. Some may argue that Call Of Duty is better than Battlefield, but I personally think Battlefield requires more skill. Call of Duty is more of a game where you just jump around in exo suits and trickshot noobs. Battlefield takes place of more of a modern day warfare. Although, Battlefield Hardline in my opinion was terrible. Battlefield was known to be a very realistic war game. But DICE decided to change that view on them and made it Cops VS Robbers. I thought this was outrageous. Call of Duty used to make more modern games like Battlefield did, They had the Modern Warfare Series, Which has 3 games in it. Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3. Those where the games that everyone enjoyed. But starting in 2012 Activision/Treyark decided to make more futuristic games. They first started with Black Ops 2, then they went to Call of Duty Ghosts, which was kind of modern and kind of futuristic. Then they made Advanced Warfare, and now they are coming out with Black Ops 3. You may notice I am missing the Black Ops 1? Well, the transaction between Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2 was quite big. Black ops 1 was a Vietnam war era game, then in 2012 Treyark made Black ops 2 which changed the who course of the game, which had nothing to do with the black ops 1.

ReplyDeleteI believe that Cod 4 is not actually as good as it is said to be the greatest because people have said old is better than new like with Goldeneye 007 which has aged as badly as this game and both games are extremely buggy, however Cod 4 based of age and length they designed this game it is the best because they took time and tried on this one rather than copying and pasting the same game with new game models and maps.

ReplyDeleteI believe that Battlefield 4 is the best of all the above games however I do love me a good Black ops/2 zombies. However I believe that Battlefield 4 wins because it provides the most variety in game play and it is physically better technology used in battlefield with better graphics and more realistic physics rather than Black ops/ Modern warfare series which keep everything as simple as possible to pump out games every six months rather than taking the time to create a good game.

DeleteI do see your point about quality over quantity, but that doesn't mean that they are bad. At the end of the day its what is most fun to play that makes the better game.

ReplyDeletePersonally I prefer call of duty over battlefield, because I find the arcadey game-play setting to be more entertaining. If you want a realistic setting in a shooter game, skip battlefield entirely and play Arma 3.

ReplyDeleteboth games take no skill in my opinion. both games are like 1 shot 1 kill lol no skill intended for that. I think Halo takes way more skill than both them games. In halo it usually takes 4-5 shots with br and dmr. Halo is a good game to play if your either a pro, tryhard, sweaty kid, decent player, average player, or a bad kid.

DeleteThis talks about Battlefields graphics and basically just a lot about what it looks like. It also never says what battlefields objective really IS, it would have been better if it gave more factual information than a lot of opinion based.
ReplyDeleteI've played COD but not Battlefield. What kind of reasons would you give someone who isn't sure about Battlefield as to why they should play it? I see a lot of your reasons are graphics and realism,but are there any other reasons you have in case someone doesn't care about graphics or realism?
ReplyDeleteBattlefield is really fun if you play with friends, and teamwork can be essential to winning in the game. Other than that, yeah the graphics are good and its realistic, but the real fun of the game comes with the squad work.
DeletePersonally I prefer Battlefield 4 or 3 to any Call of Duty game. Call of Duty is really fun and has an arcadey aspect about it, however I am not always in the mood to play it. I am more often in the mood to play games like Battlefield because in Battlefield, I can work with my team and each squad member has a role to perform, and if they don't then it puts the whole squad at a disadvantage. Battlefield games can entertain me for hours if I get into a squad with my friends, and we start racking up kills and taking objectives.

ReplyDeleteThere are more objective game modes in call of duty, actually most are very similar to battlefield. Personally I think that Hardline was a great game because it was different. The last few battlefield games have all been very similar so they needed change to keep people interested. I think COD did this very well with black ops one and two. One game was older style and one was modern with some weapons that people haven't gotten to use before. If games aren't constantly changing they will get boring. COD and Battlefield are the same type of game but different in many ways and both can supply hours of fun gameplay.
