H1Z1 is more complete then Dayz because you can build bases,craft food,weapons,traps,health related things.Also it has working vehicles,more loot spawns and interact able buildings. H1Z1 has a game mode called battle royal you can play it anytime you want you just have to find the right server
now dayz has something similar but it only happens once a year.H1Z1 has a working map and compass plus you can build a improvised compass.
DayZ is a pre-alpha build so it has really bad game breaking bugs and the loot spawn has problems.So far DayZ has one vehicle but the problem with it is you cant save it because once you log out people can come over and find then take it for them selves.The things DayZ has that work or are cool to have is it has a variety of weapons but most don't really help kill off the zombies.It has a ton of different food such as can goods that you have to find sharp objects to open them which makes even more difficult to survive but in H1Z1 you just click and eat it.Now DayZ so as i know doesn't have a working map or compass and when you find them its hard to use them i could never get them to work but that's proly cause i didn't try very hard.
So even know that both games have a lot of game breaking things doesn't mean that they are horrible games they both are fantastic game I have them both and i play them both and i don't have big problems with them at all so I recommend getting them if you a PC because there not on consoles H1Z1 will be on ps4 but not for a while they thought of bringing DayZ to consoles but they want to wait till they get the PC version fixed.

ReplyDeleteThe biggest problem I have with both of these games is that both of them are advertised as zombie survival games and in reality zombies aren't a factor in either. In fact in H1Z1 a lot of the modes don't even have zombies at all.
ReplyDeleteYeah they do i have problems with how many spawn at my bases now DayZ has no zombies but in H1Z1 i get to many of the zombs
DeleteIt's more a factor of the interactions between players rather than how people kill the zombies. There aren't many zombies, but its more of how people act with other people, whether it be cooperating or trying to kill eachother, and everything in between.

DeleteSurviving technically is a mission however it's not really about the end it's about what you do to get there that creates the story and develops the gameplay. However it is also not fair to judge DayZ since it is still in it's alpha.

DeleteI have a question, in your opinion which one is better and for what reasons. Personally I can't generate an opinion due to me never playing either game so I would like to know other people's opinions.
ReplyDeleteThe idea behind all the survival games is a good one, but it's really directed to certain people, the people that have already played the genre. I have plenty of experience in the types of games, and I get the appeal, but I personally think the whole concept is getting stale with game after game with the same mechanics.
ReplyDeleteI find it interesting that Dayz has so many more consistent problems than H1Z1 considering Dayz has had so much time out on the market as a pre-alpha compared to H1Z1. The Dayz mod for Arma 2 is much better with its capabilities compared to the Dayz standalone. The mods allow more vehicles, gametypes, and different building options within the game.

ReplyDeleteAs far as I know H1Z1 is considered better, if only because it is actually a finished game. But of course that is only an opinion and Dayz isn't a finished game. I guess we'll get a better idea once its done.

DeleteBoth games have problems just like any game especially when it's in pre-alpha but what I find interesting is that it's in pre-alpha version and people still love playing it if you watch streaming websites like mlg and especially twitch there always up there in games for top viewers if both games continue to improve the problems they face these games could be even more popular

ReplyDeletedayz was the original zombie survival and had almost no funding but h1z1 was made by sony and had alot of funding because the company had alot of money but if dayz had the same funding i think it would be better
ReplyDeleteIts an interesting point you make about funding. When Day z was at its popularity height the developers were not receiving direct funding because it was a free mod on arma 2. I feel like there separate release was poorly timed and they are struggling as a result.
DeleteI have never played either but I have watched many videos and streams with both games. From what I can tell H1Z1 seems to play more fluidly with more things for the character to do. Day Z is a much older game and the standalone is still in pre alpha so my guess would be that it is not the developers main focus right now. Over time I think we will see H1Z1 eclipse Day Z as the better game, like it is already starting to do.
