Fallout: New Vegas Overview and DLC

Fallout: New Vegas is a game in part of the Fallout series. It is a role-playing game that was developed by Obsidean Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game takes place in the year 2281, 204 years after the Great War that turned America into a wasteland. In the game you are the Courier, who was on his way to deliver a package from Primm to New Vegas where you were intercepted by a gang and shot. A robot victor dug you up and that's where the game starts. There are many abominations(creatures) that you can run into in the Mojave Desert, where New Vegas takes place. The hardest being deathclaws. Deathclaws do a lot of damage and are very tough to
kill. There are many factions in New Vegas, the major ones are
the NCR(New California Republic), Caesar's Legion, Robert House, and Yes Man. There are many main quests you can do and many side quests. The game takes a lot of time to finish especially if you want to do all quests. There is also hardcore mode that makes it very realistic to where you can get dehydrated, you have to also sleep and eat or else you'll die.

Fallout: New Vegas DLC
Honest Hearts
In the Honest Hearts DLC you go to Zion Canyon with a small faction the Happy Trails Caravan when you get intercepted by a tribe the White Legs and they kill everybody but you, if you survive, and then Follows-Chalk takes you to his home. After you will do some quests then in the end of the DLC you fight the White Legs and Caesar's Legion.

Dead Money
In the Dead Money DLC you, the courier, gets sent to the Sierra Madre casino by following a radio broadcast that leads you there. The Sierra Madre, located in the city of the dead. It's grand opening never happened because the bombs had fallen, freezing the city in time. Your goal is to get a team together and get into the casino. It is very difficult and takes a lot of time and patience to complete. It is by far my favorite DLC in any game that I have played.

Old World Blues
Old World Blues the name explains itself. In this DLC you get sent to Big Mt. where before the war is where the greatest scientists lived and experimented and made things. A group of those scientists had put their brains in computers and when you get sent there they took your brain. Dr. Mobious had stole your brain and you go off wandering around Big Mt. fighting off lobotomites, robo-scorpians and more. When you finally get your brain back you either decide to kill the group of scientists or convince them to not experiment in the wasteland.

Lonesome Road
The Lonesome road, the 4th and final DLC in Fallout: New Vegas. In this DLC you travel into the Divide. Where you spend your travels finding Courier six, Ulysses. The walk on the road in the Divide is a long and treacherous one, you facing the elements of the Divide, from deathclaws to the Marked Men. The long walk on the road ends when you find Ulysses before he's about to launch a nuclear warhead into the wasteland. You can convince him to partner up with you as you kill Marked Men who try to attack. In the end you can chooses to disarm the missles, launch at the NCR, launch at Caesar's Legion, or at both. The Lonesome Road is by far one of the greatest DLCs of all time in my book.

Has anybody played New Vegas or any other game in the Fallout series? If so what was your favorite part/thing?

    1. Fallout is about a post apocalyptic world in which people are being affected in all sorts of ways, The reason it is good because you can choose your fate and do basically whatever you want to any character, this also creates a very deep and complex story which only furthers its greatness.

    2. it is a role-playing game where you wander around the wasteland in a post apocalyptic world where there are many creatures that can kill you, you are affected by radiation, you do quests that lead you through the game and there are multiple ways to beat the game. You decide how you want it to go.

    1. You should try a game other than Nintendo stuff. It may be the best but widening your horizons would probably truly show what kind's of games you like and what kind of games you don't like.

  4. I Have loved the Fallout series since the beginning with the wide varieties of different moves you can make changing the story you go through however I don't believe that the DLC could possibly add that much other than a waste of money.

    1. Both Fallout 3 And new vegas get marked down on steam all the time to like $1.39, and its not that expensive for console if I recall. They are definitely worth it especially with the fourth one coming out soon.

  6. I have never played a game in this series before, but I may go back and try them out. It seems like an interesting concept and it is not often that games today have so many DLC's that add new gameplay and stories, which is always nice to have.

  7. What system is it for? I probably don't have the right console to play it but I'm just curious, it seems like an interesting game.

  8. Ive played fallout 3 and fallout nv i think the best fallout is fallout 3 but when 4 comes out it will probably be better but the best thing about fallout is that they don't tell you what to do or restrict you if you don't wanna do a mission you don't have too.

    1. Fallout (like most bethesda games) was ok at release but the modding community is what makes those types of games interesting.

  13. This is my favorite fallout game ive ever played. I have never played any of the DLC for it but even the vanilla game is worthy of being one of the greatest games of all time. I never really had fun on it when I played it on my consoles but once I got it for PC it blew me away. Guess its just more of a PC oriented game in some aspects.

    1. personally I think the DLC makes the games story even better than it already is, they add so much to it and make it a lot more fun than it already is. They also raise the level cap to 50 if you buy all of them.

    2. The DLC is a lot more fun than without it.

  16. I've never been a huge fan of bethesda mods but I they did release a GECK which is a specified that makes it easy to create and add community made modifications to the game.
